Andrew,
Thanks so much for your response. I liked Brent a lot as a player - one of the best shooting 4 men in the conference, and great at taking the charge.

To me, Levi would help this years Danes squad more than Brent. While Brent was great at taking charges, Levi was a much better - and much more versatile - man-to-man defender, and the Danes need a "stopper." Also, although Brent Wilson was a 4 and Levi's natural position was a 3, Levine would post guys up a lot on offense, whereas Wilson played almost exclusively on the perimeter on the offensive end, and the Danes already have enough guys on offense who sit out on the arc.

Finally, while Brent was a great shooter, he didn't really "create" his own offense so to speak: he was great at knocked 'em down after Jamar would drive the lane and draw the defense before kicking it out, but Brent really wasn't the guy who could make something happen on his own.

During his first 3 years in the the league - even if he was on bad teams - Levine could really create: take guys off of the dribble, take it to the hoop, etc., and this Great Danes squad really needs someone who can generate their own offense and create off of the dribble.

Just my opinion, however...

Kenny, thanks for the kind words! I remember those days really well - those were good times. I think my favorite memory was when you and Alex yelled "Stompin in my Air Force 1's!" at Kenny Adeleke, he still remembers that all these years later, lol.

As an Albany fan, I would take Brent Wilson. Defensively, Brent could take the charge like no other, and was always dedicated to rebounding. Offensively, Brent could stretch the defense with a lethal 3-point shot. His leadership would be valued on a team that currently has two sophomore captains. He would be another big man for W.Brown to rotate in with his current trio. Honorable mention would go to Levi Levine and Brian Connelly for many similar reasons.
